[EMS, YT] Level 245! Second 2.000.000 viewed video!

Ding! All that daily coin grind this month was definitely worth the effort, given that I've managed to grind out over 60% EXP in total. I might even hit Level 246 somewhere in August, because there should be two Typhoon Storm Growth Potions available towards the end of the Adventure update.

Anyway, I should be done with Arcane Force in less than 10 days...

In other news, our Kirby's Return to Dreamland - All Mini/Main/EX Bosses video has reached two million views! This makes our second video to have hit the two million milestone, the first being our Mario Party 7 video.

The Kirby's Return to Dreamland video is currently our strongest growing video on the Rayque3 channel, as it has dethroned Mario Party 7 last year. The second place belongs to our Subspace Emissary video. Surprisingly, our video for Pokémon Battle Revolution is slowly catching up in growth, being our third highest growing video on the channel (in views per month).

Yes, I know that we haven't uploaded a video at all this year. There is actually one particular video that I want to release as soon as possible... but it still remains in a quality check limbo for the time being.

That's it for today - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] Eighth 100.000 viewed video!

Hi guys! Not too long ago, our Pokémon Battle Revolution - All Masters Battles video has reached 100.000 views! This makes for our eighth video to reach 100k, with this video in particular reaching it in three-and-a-half years.

I'm not sure when another video will hit 100.000, but it won't be any time soon unless on of our videos suddenly changes in growth drastically. Anyway, we're happy to see that this particular video has hit 100k!

Did you know that six of our thirteen Single-Part-Videos have reached this milestone? This includes our most recent ones we've released this year, and one SPV that we removed a couple of years ago.

That's it for today - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] 10 years of Rayque3!

Woops, I totally forgot that our tenth anniversary of our Youtube channel was last Saturday. I've been occupied with a lot of things lately given I'm currently in Norway again for this month. My baaaad. Either way: better late than never!

On the 7th of July, ten years ago; Luxatus Patella and I have started our journey on Youtube with the Rayque3 channel as a hobby. We like the games we play, and we also like to make videos about them. Even just as a hobbyist channel, we've collected a total of almost twelve million views and over eleven thousand subscribers by now!

Maybe I should consider writing another "Behind the scenes" blogpost sooner or later, about that one particular video that I released over a month ago. It would definitely make for a good celebrational and informative blogpost about "the original single-part-video that took almost nine freaking years, an entire walkthrough of the same game and a lot of memes before it got published"...

Anyway, thanks for all the support guys! More content is always on its way. To eleven years and beyond!

[YT] Fourth 500.000 viewed video!

Hi guys! Just recently, our Super Smash Bros Brawl - 100% Subspace Emissary video has hit 500.000 views!
That makes it our fourth video to have reached this milestone.

While most of our popular videos have been declining in views in the past couple of years, they still move forward in terms of views - just a little slower than they used to, that's all. Subspace Emissary was released on the 16th of August, 2013, which makes the video almost five years old. It has been one of the more important Single-Part-Videos to date, as it not only broke the record of longest Rayque3 video at the time of release (and thus, it set the tone for what had yet to come later on) - but it has also proven to be a successful video as well!

Anyway, speaking of Single-Part-Videos...

Surprisingly, our Pokémon Battle Revolution - All Masters Battles [HeartGold] video has been stable with its growth since it started to launch in terms of views. Despite being only just three years old, it has already ranked in the top 10 most viewed videos on our channel!

LEGO® CITY Undercover - Main Story is crawling up slowly since its release two years ago, and it is currently the fourth highest growing video of this year so far...

What has probably been the most unexpected to myself is "the return" of our Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards - All main bosses video, which is one of the first Single-Part-Videos released on our channel - all the way back in 2012. This video had quite a declining growth starting from 2013, which only kept going down until late 2017. However, it has already been our fifth most viewed video this year already, with just a mere hundred views advantage over Donkey Kong 64 - All main bosses and our Pokémon Battle Revolution video! I probably wouldn't have believed you if you told me about this a couple of years ago, as I considered the growth of Kirby 64 to be "dead" for a long while.

That's it for today - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] 11.000 Subs!

Sup guys! Today we've reached 11.000 subscribers on our channel!

It has taken almost a year to go from ten thousand to eleven, partially because of our "inactivity" (or, lack of uploads) in the past one-and-a-half year. Rest assured, content is always on its way, and more content is always planned.

Youtube is just a hobby to us, and that also means that we always have our moments of "inactivity". For what it's worth: don't forget that we do regularly check our Youtube channel - we do read all of the comments that we receive.

When will my next Single-Part-Videos come out? I'm honestly not sure when I'll upload them. One still needs to be quality checked, and quality checking a six hour video is time consuming to say the least.

Having a couple of days of slow internet for uploading relatively large file sizes (i.e. uploading files over 20 GB with only 3 MB/s upload) is actually more troublesome than it might sound at first, especially if you're not the only person living in the same building. Just remember that they are on their way though! I just need to figure out how to solve this puzzle.

That's it for today - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] About one month left!

Hi guys - Just about one month left here in Norway! You've probably noticed already that there hasn't been a blogpost for this month - well, as I mentioned before on my blog - there isn't just much I can do here and thus my blog pretty much narrows down to "EMS" posts-only at the moment. And if there isn't some improvement on my character that I feel to warrant a blogpost by itself, there is nothing for the EMS department to write about either. Of course, if there isn't a blogpost, that doesn't mean my character isn't progressing (for example, my Lacheln symbol is now at Level 5).

Anyway, I do really want to work on my LEGO® projects but unfortunately I only have a handful of Galidor sets here to mess around with if I'm really bored. Which actually brought me to an idea for a sweet Galidor MOC when I get back home. Of course I've been playing EMS pretty much all the time and every now and then I've been playing some Team Fortress 2 and Pokémon. But as I often joke with some of my friends, I only play video games when I don't play around with my LEGO® stuff. Fun fact: if you have paid attention to my LEGO® collection in the past few months, you might have noticed every now and then a new set popped in my list...

Fortunately I have had plenty of time to actually think about how I would improve my Constructor. Y'know, ever since I've gone full focus on my Hailfire Droid, you might have noticed my Constructor is "left behind" - which is the disadvantage of running two fairly sized projects at the same time while you're just a student with a limited amount of time and resources for your hobby. Anyway, I've decided that I have to redesign my Constructor from scratch again (and thus, a second redesign of the entire body) as there are a few things I really want to (urgently) improve on. We'll definitely get back to that later this year!

Just to make things clear about my 10th anniversary on EMS on the 30th of September -  unfortunately due to some pretty uncanny timing it's also the day where I'm actually heading back home. Which means I'll only really be playing around in the very early morning and the blogpost should be up just after breakfast because it'll be a two-day trip.

That's it for today - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] 10.000 Subs!

Yeah! About damn time! We at the Rayque3 Channel, have finally reached a whopping 10.000 Subscriber count as of today! This has been something Lux and I have been looking forward to a lot in the past few months.

As most of you recurring readers know, Lux and I have started our Youtube channel since the 7th of July, all the way back in 2008. In a lifetime, we have produced and released 462 videos, excluding projects that never got to the upload page and our Xenoblade SPV. In total so far, we have racked up 10.500.000 views. And there's still plenty of videos we'd like to do!

We do the "Youtube thing" because it's a hobby. We've started in 2008 and we're still doing it because we like what we do. Delivering quality and something we can be proud of are part of that.

The good old Youtube channel layout. Don't mind the mess, we were still young. Plus, this was pretty much how a lot of people did their Youtube channels back then. Today it's surprisingly limited on how much you can layout all of it... Anyway, it's funny that I've actually finished my Wario Ware Smooth Moves Walkthrough after all (see Channel Description). Well, finished all but the "All Microgames part" that I referred about in the first part. To quote young Rayque from 2009: "I will show all the stages, all the minigames... Well minigames may be too hard". COUGH

It's been quite a journey hasn't it? I'm sure there will be some readers here who have seen most of those years; in some rare cases everything. There's also a lot of readers who joined in our small community rather recently. All cases are totally fine! It's probably best when you joined recently. As long as you guys can enjoy what we release on this platform.

Well, Youtube has changed a lot as a platform throughout the years. Some for the better, some being perhaps worse. There's plenty of examples we all can name. You can change the platform over and over again every year, but you cannot take away the channel from the "Rayque3". More content is always on the way; as our joy in doing this hobby hasn't faded away. Obviously, because in 2018 we've been doing this for ten years already!

That's it for today - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] Overpower Level 8 unlocked!

This has probably taken far too long, but it's about damn time.

Hi guys! Earlier this week, Lux and I finally managed to reach Overpower Level 8 (aka OP8) on Borderlands 2.
If you've been around on this blog for a few years by now, you might have seen a few blogposts related to this "Overpower Level 8" thingamajiggy.

Truth is, we've been on/off with Borderlands 2 a lot in the past four years, so obviously, we wouldn't always have time or a lot of attempts for this because this is a two-man job. There isn't much I haven't said in those other two blogposts, so if you're interested in more "behind the scenes" knowledge, I'd say check those those out.

So, what changed from then to now, given we've been Overpower Level 7 for almost two years? A lot of reinventing the wheel - trying new things out. Actually, also screwing up badly. Not Lux his fault - but mostly mine. The first time we got almost to the final boss of Digistruct Peak somewhere in 2015, my wireless keyboard had big issues with pressing E to revive at the last trench. In another run, Lux got knockbacked off the map due to one of those Slagged Centurion Spiderants. Went game over a lot in the Assassin round. Became a bit too greedy with shooting Saturn and thus risked too much. So, we went back to the drawing board and tried to tackle certain issues in our gameplay.

One of the first things that had to be fixed was probably my build as a Zer0. Zer0 can hit insanely hard with Melee builds - it's one of the main reasons why I like his gameplay so much. But getting the Hide of Terramorphous isn't as easy as it might sound, as a Zer0 is unlikely to beat him on the PC version with a Sniper build, as some of the common console cheeses (i.e. the rock where you can hide from attacks) doesn't work the same here. So, breaking the ice: if the Hide of Terramorphous is that of a gamechanger, then I shall probably need it. That is why I've created a Gunzerker purely for the sake of killing that raid boss - and as you know with my average luck, it took over 80 runs to even get my first. And immediately after I tried out the shield, the vast improvement was notable.

While I haven't learnt many new things on my Zer0 back between 2013 and 2015 - Borderlands 2 is still surprisingly active as a game and community. Certain things like the Pimpernel and Interfacer only surfaced much later as a "well-known" solid option for late OP modes and I tried them out. Like how sometimes speedrunners find new shortcuts in games that are over a decade old, y'know? And having that Gunzerker as a grind mule really helped a lot with obtaining a few things I would most likely not be able to get with my current Zer0, like the Interfacer itself and a new Chain Lightning. Or, at least - obtaining them a LOT easier.

The same thing applied to Lux his build as well. Tried out some new things and see what sticks. It's even hilarious that we managed to get him through Digistruct Peak with a standard purple Tediore Quick Shield because Axton has so many awesome skills that improves shield recharge delays and recharge rates. He also figured out that the Fastball hits hard after it got buffed during the Loot Hunt event - and oh boy, he was damn right.

So, we're now OP8 - and don't ask me already when we're going back to the next part of our Borderlands 2 Let's Play. We barely have touched the game after we got to OP8, as we still want to get perfect equipment and everything first. Enjoying the game, y'know. And then we can finally try out the Pre-Sequel because we've been holding off to try that until we finished the second game. But at least I can tell you there is no excuse to not resume the Let's Play anymore. So yeah Lux, I know you're reading this.

That's it for now - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] Partial blogging hiatus until October 2017

*Takes a deep breath* Where to start?

In two weeks, I'm going abroad to Norway until the end of September, 2017. It's probably not my first call to go all the way there for almost half a year, but unfortunately I don't have much choice. Why? It's for my graduation assignment to finish my study.

Subjectively, it's a bit of a mixed bag, as for several personal reasons I'm not entirely looking forward to it, but I'd rather just get it over with as soon as possible so I can finish my study. And yes, I am aware that LEGO® is currently looking for students, but unfortunately I missed that opportunity because that application was published two days after I just got to a point of no return with my current assignment. Sucks (which is a sore understatement for how I truly feel about it), but there is nothing I can do about that.

Anyway, that brings me to the following point: during that time, I'll have no access to any of my LEGO® collection, which means there will be no progress on my MK Projects, any other projects and no blacklight posts. It's just too much to take with me, as my entire room is chock full with it, and I won't have much time to order at Bricklink at all in case I'll need something to progress my Hailfire Droid or Constructor. There will be moments during this upcoming semester where I'll go back and forth between Norway and home, but those moments will be brief and thus unlikely for me to work on anything LEGO® related.

However, I fortunately have enough space (just barely though) to bring all of my hardware gear, which includes my standard PC, laptop, TV, consoles and recording devices, as a survival kit throughout these months. I'm not expecting to have much time to work on any Youtube videos, but at least, if I want to work on them, I could. Just don't expect anything big and time consuming as a Single-Part-Video anytime soon. I'll probably end up playing EMS during most of my spare time however, if I'd be honest. This graduation assignment will require quite a lot of me, so resting up after each day is very important to me.

So, that does mean that there will be less blogposts than usual to read here in the next upcoming months. The EMS blogposts will just come as they've always been, but just don't expect anything for the LEGO® department until I'm back home.

[YT] What the heck am I doing

Just to get a 30 seconds recording of the GameCube version of Animal Crossing for an upcoming random (totally-not-a-filler) video, I had to bring out my good ol' CRT Television (the TV on the right) from the dusty haystack that is my attic. This isn't really an important blogpost, I just find it amusing to look at because it's so damn ridiculous for some incredibly short and simple recording so I wanted to share it with you all.

In case you can't follow what is happening on the image (a rather complex story simplified):

If you would run an American version of a game on an European console, your television shows the game on screen all fine. A television is just a method to display images from your console. Your console does the converting automatically. However, most capture devices that are directly connected to your console cannot record or display in a scenario like this because the capture device wants to pick up the encoding for an European console, but the game runs on an American encoding.

So in order to "make this work", I have directly plugged in my console to my old CRT Television, which has the (nowadays considered) rare ability to have a "TV in" and "TV out". This means that I can literally record whatever shows up on the screen (whenever it's something like your local news, or some DVD/VHS player or a console that is connected).

So the "TV in" is the input where my console is connected, which may vary between European, American and Japanese encoding. However, the "TV out" never changes and remains the same encoding, so this allows me to record games that have this "messed up" encoding which I shouldn't be able otherwise. The "TV out" goes in my capture devices. The newer TV in the back is just to verify if the image is being captured correctly.

When will this filler video be released? Probably around the end of January. I'm tired now, you'd be surprised how heavy that CRT Television actually is... aaaand it's way past 3 AM anyway so I better go to sleep.

That's it for now - I'll see you guys again next post!

P.S. #BringBackCRT

[YT] 10.000.000 total upload views!

Just in time for 2016, we have finally reached 10.000.000 views on the Rayque3 Channel! This is an incredible achievement, so thank you for your recurring support!

Apologize for the delay of blogposts in the past few weeks. I've been very busy with everything and nothing, so I have an unfortunate low amount of hours left to work on my blog. I can already confirm that I'm still going for the extensive 5th Job blogpost for EMS (of course!), and there will be a new Multirandomness video along the way. When? I don't know for sure, but just don't forget that it's holiday season. So have a happy holidays y'all!

That's it for now - I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] Our second 1.000.000 viewed video!

Hi guys! Just recently, our Kirby's Return to Dreamland - All Mini/Main/EX Bosses video has hit one million total views! This is the second video on the Rayque3 Channel to have hit this milestone, the first being Mario Party 7 - All Mini-Games.

I know most of you are eagerly waiting for new content on our channel, especially on the final parts of Lux' his Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Walkthrough, and that some of you have noticed that the most "recent" Single-Part-Video was over a year ago (if we only count the ones who have seen the light of day).

As mentioned on Lux' his Twitter before, and in the comment section of a recent Randomness video - due to a hardware issue with his laptop, the release of the final parts are delayed. Do not worry about the content or quality of the videos themselves; they are already finished with editing and ready to be rendered. Emphasizing the latter, the videos cannot be rendered due to the hardware issue.

Don't forget that our Youtube channel is still a hobby. Especially around this time of the year, we both are occupied and busy with other priorities that unfortunately goes before what we like to do most. I had a blast creating the first three videos of a recent series: Ganondorf, Ryu and King Dedede and I'm very looking forward to do the other remaining characters, but please consider the fact that creating a video like these takes more than eight hours in order to have it ready on our channel.

While I have the raw footage for the next video in that series ready (he's the first member of the Decay Kroo), and I even have three (soon four!) topics to write about on my blog, please bear with me that in the next upcoming weeks I have a limited amount of time to do things for myself, so these contents on my blog and on our channel might take a while. Usually writing a (small) blogpost, even like one of these, takes at least an hour.

On the bright side, I can confirm that our next Single-Part-Video is already finished and ready to be released, but its release date is after finishing the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Walkthrough series.

Please stay patient with us, and keep looking forward to the next content we have to offer in the near future!

I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] 9.000.000 total upload views!

Hi guys! Today we've hit nine million total upload views on our Youtube Channel!
It took our channel to get from eight to nine in just 146 days.

As for our current (rather still consistent) growth, it is very likely to hit 10.000.000 total upload views and 10.000 subscribers this year. Kirby's Return to Dreamland - All Mini/Main/EX Bosses is expected to reach one million views somewhere during the summer, Donkey Kong 64 - All main bosses is expected to hit 500.000 near the end of this year.

By the way, our next Single-Part-Video will be quality checked somewhere in May. As mentioned before, this video is expected to be published during the summer. If you don't hear anything about it, assume that everything goes
as planned. The video size and length shouldn't be an issue at all, so do not worry about that it could meet a similar fate to Xenoblade Chronicles - Main Story [New Game+]. If it does, you'll hear about it.

Thank you all for the support on our channel, keep it coming!

I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] About damn time.

Took you long enough. If you want to do things properly, try to get it right the first time.
Some other small orders are still on the way, especially two Amiibo's (imported Famicon R.O.B. and a back ordered Meta Knight). Next year I'm going for LEGO® City Undercover and Dimensions, together with a fourth GameCube controller.

Image was taken at the start of this month, in case you wonder - the Wii U bundle was pre-ordered somewhere between September and November.

That's it for today! I'll see you guys agai-

"Wait a second. Didn't you mention you wouldn't go for a Wii U, mentioned in this post?"
Well, you're right. But if you read carefully; I used the word "probably". At first, there were no plans for getting this console - but that was about two years ago. Having no plans to get something doesn't equal actually wanting one -
the Wii U is pretty awesome and that has been my opinion for a long while. It's such a shame that most people rate it as trash just because it sold poorly.

Despite I've been wanting to play LEGO® City Undercover since its release, just getting a console for a single game wouldn't justify the price for just the sake of playing the game - even though I'd love to try that game out. After a while that "single game" has expanded to a total of four - Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Smash Bros for Wii U,
LEGO® City Undercover and LEGO® Dimensions, and that did feel like a lot of (replay) value to offer.

Happy holidays from the Rayque3 Staff!

[YT] 8.000.000 total upload views!

Man, it's raining blogposts at the end of November, isn't it? We've hit 8.000.000 total upload views earlier today! Whoohoo!

PS. Kirby's Return to Dreamland - All Mini/Main/EX Bosses has hit 600.000 views earlier this week.

[YT] 8000 Subs!

Hi guys! Today we have finally reached 8000 Subs - thank you all for the great support!
Hopefully we'll reach the 10.000 mark next year!

Early next month, there's going to be a game changer (behind the scenes) that will open new opportunities for the
Rayque3 Staff in 2016 and beyond. I can honestly tell you that Lux does *not* know what it's about - but I'm sure
he'll look forward to it when he hears about it halfway December. That said, I can't wait for it!

You'll read more about it on this blog in the second half of December.
That's it for today! I'll see you guys again next post!

[YT] Behind the scenes - "Xenoblade Chronicles - Main Story [New Game+]"

It started as a joke back in 2013. After finishing the Super Smash Bros Brawl video of 6 hours, I said to Lux:
"Never again. But I know I'll probably go nuts one day and surpass this video once more."

A Single-Part-Video that would pass my limits. A Single-Part-Video that would break Sony Vegas and
couldn't be rendered. A Single-Part-Video that would go way over Youtube's upload limit.

In our second issue of Behind the Scenes, we're going to evaluate a Single-Part-Video that took almost
an entire year to finish... to be cancelled for a permanent appointment until Youtube is going to raise their
upload limit once again.

The video is cancelled temporary.
Don't think this video got cancelled for good. Everything's already here. We got the final video that we would upload, we got that custom thumbnail, we got a full index, the video has been quality checked... Just that uploading.
It's still going to happen, one day...

[YT] 5.000, 500.000, 5.000.000!

Sup guys! Just another recurring milestone update for the ones who are interested.

Straight off the bat, Mario Party 7 - All Mini-Games, has hit 5.000.000 views
a few days ago. This video has been published on the 26st of March, 2013.

It was the third Single-Part-Video to be released that was longer than an hour,
and as many recurring readers know - the most viewed video on our channel to date.

The second video in our milestone update is the Kirby's Return to Dreamland - All Mini/Main/EX Bosses. This video has been published on the 28th of November, 2014. It's the second video of our channel to have reached 500.000 views within a year, next to Mario Party 7.

It was also the third Single-Part-Video to be near to three hours or longer.

Perhaps a bit of underwhelming achievement compared to the previous two
in this post, but Pokémon Battle Revolution - All Masters Battles [HeartGold]
has reached 5.000 views.

One of the main reasons to share this milestone is because this video is actually one of the top 10 videos who gains the most views a month; standing close to [Walkthrough] - Croc 2 - Part #1 -- CROC TO THE RESCUE.

And the fact that I still can be proud of a total of 5.000 and a growth for this fellow of 2.000 views a month! Speaking of another fellow with a similar growth...

Luxatus Patella's first part of his Croc 2 Walkthrough is close to hitting 50.000 views at the end of this year! It would be great to see it reaching that number - I'm looking forward to it!

Lux's Croc 2 Walkthrough is one of the most important walkthroughs on our channel - not only was this part of his major comeback, but the game itself has a lot of value to him. It's also the second most viewed walkthrough from Lux, only being surpassed by his original Tarzan Action Game Walkthrough.

That's it for now. I'll see you guys again next post!
